• Enjoy each other's company: dành thời gian cùng nhau (to like spending time with each other)

Example: Me and Anna have been best friends for about 10 years, and we enjoy each other’s company.

• Fair-weather friend: ám chỉ một người chỉ là bạn của bạn khi bạn vui vẻ và thành công (someone who is a good friend when it is easy to be one and who stops being one when you are having problems)

Example: There are a lot of bad people out there. Maybe some of them are just fair-weather friends because now you're successful.

• Near and dear to someone: rất quan trọng đối với ai đó (very important to someone)

Example: It's important to have people in your life who are near and dear to you.

• A shoulder to cry on: một người luôn sẵn sàng lắng nghe các vấn đề của bạn (someone who is willing to listen to your problems and give you sympathy, emotional support, and encouragement)

Example: I wish you'd been here when my mother died and I needed a shoulder to cry on.

• To be through thick and thin: trải qua khoảng thời gian tốt đẹp và khó khăn cùng nhau (to have some good times and difficult times together)

Example: She has stuck with me through thick and thin.

• To drift apart: trở nên ít thân thiết hơn với ai đó (If two people drift apart, they gradually become less friendly and their relationship ends)

Example: As years went by, high school friends drifted apart.

• To fall out with: cãi nhau (to argue with someone and stop being friendly with them)

Example: She'd fallen out with her boyfriend over his ex-girlfriend.

• To have something in common: có sở thích giống nhau, có điểm chung (to share the same interests or have similar characteristics)

Example: I didn’t think Larry and Patricia had anything in common, but they talked all evening.

• To see eye to eye: đồng ý (if two people see eye to eye, they agree with each other)

          Example: My friend doesn't see eye to eye with me about the arrangements.
